"Q Who?" Line by Line

[Vanyel]

The Borg begins an attempt to take over the computer.
Picard: Stop. I cannot allow you to interfere with the operation of this ship. (The Borg continues, despite Picard’s warning.) Mr. Worf.

[LeadHead]

Worf: Ensign.

Ensign Expendable runs at the borg, who tosses him across engineering. Worf fires his phaser, not causing any damage. The Borg starts using its arm on the console, draining power.

[Admiral Shran]

(The security man is casually thrown across Engineering. Worf's phaser has no effect. Now the Borg steps up his electronic infiltration of the engineering systems, and the lights go out)

PICARD: Mister Worf, use whatever means to neutralise the intruder.

[Vanyel]

The Ensign approaches the Borg and is hurled back and into a wall. Worf then, after seeing the Borg is dangerous and is happy he didn’t go near, fires his phaser at the Borg. The phaser is ineffective. The Borg finds the dimmer switch and the audio control. He turns the lights up and down and plays a sound while he does it.
Picard: Mr. Worf, use whatever means to neutralize the invader.
Worf ups the power setting and kills the Borg. Another one appears. Worf fires on this new Borg but a shield rises from the Borg blocking the phaser beam. The Borg continues what the other began, playing with the dimmer switch and audio controls. Once he’s done he goes to the dead drone pulls some parts off it, then beams away and the dead Borg disintegrates leaving a Borg shaped stain on the rug.

[Admiral Shran]

[Observation lounge]

PICARD: Because her people had contact with the Borg, I have requested Guinan to participate in this conference. You are aware of what occurred just now in main Engineering.

[Vanyel]

Guinan: Yes.

[Admiral Shran]

PICARD: What happened between your people and the Borg?

[Vanyel]

Guinan: I wasn’t there personally, but, from what I’m told, they swarmed through our system and when they left there was little or nothing left of my people.

[Admiral Shran]

RIKER: Guinan, if they were that aggressive, why didn't the Borg attack? They could have but they didn't.

[Vanyel]

Guinan: They don’t do that individually. That’s not their way. When they decide to come, they’re going to come in force. They don’t do anything piecemeal.

[Admiral Shran]

DATA: Then the initial encounter was solely for the purpose of gathering information.

[LeadHead]

Guinan: Yes.

[Vanyel]

Guinan: .Yes.

[Admiral Shran]

PICARD: How do we reason with them? Let them know that we are not a threat?

[Vanyel]

Guinan: You don’t. At least, I’ve never known anyone who did.
