Re: JD's Comic Book Thread

Not graphs, but if you scroll down to the middle, they compare each titles February's sales to the same titles sales 6 months ago, 1 year ago, 2 years ago, 5 years ago and 10 years ago.

http://comicsbeat.com/dc-comics-mont...lows-the-pack/

They are losing money on almost every front.

(13 seconds of googling.)

Good work, Guy!

It looks like the A list titles are selling higher, but that's because of Scott Snyder and Jim Lee and whatnot, not because of the reboot, while the middling titles are right where they were before.

Jim Lee isn't even on there.

Re: JD's Comic Book Thread

Just picked up the first (digital) TPB of Runaways on Comixology marked down from US$10.99 to US$1.99. I hadn't planned on getting any more comics until I finished the ones I already bought but haven't read (Winter Soldier Part 2, Star Wars: Legacy Vol 4, and New 52 Wonder Woman Vol 3.), but at that price I couldn't pass it up.

Re: JD's Comic Book Thread

It will cost me at least $20 in bus fair to get my Runaways back from the bastard that borrowed them almost 10 years ago... Only to find that it's been irretrievably lost, filed or stored.

I just read Nightcrawler #1, my first X-Title in over 15 years. I enjoyed it, but man was I lost.

What?
So just because there is a honking #1 on the cover doesn't instantly mean "GREAT JUMPING ON POINT!".
Say it isn't so!!

Re: JD's Comic Book Thread

I believe it's written by Chris Claremont who hasn't written anything readable since the end of his last run on UXM.

Re: JD's Comic Book Thread

I found it entertaining but apparently a lot has changed in the X-Universe. Jean and Scott have their own competing schools?

Re: JD's Comic Book Thread

The Jean Grey school is run by Wolverine. Jean died in the Morrison run of New X-Men. The current one running around is a younger time displaced version. Scott's school is more like underground survivalist cult.

Re: JD's Comic Book Thread

When did Joss Whedon writer Runaways? I've seen references to him writing issues, but I couldn't find a list of who wrote which issues anywhere.

Re: JD's Comic Book Thread

Question for all you collectors out there. How do you to track your collection?

When I was just starting out in the 80s I did it by pen and paper. In the early 90s I used something called Compu-Comic which didn't last very long. I then switched to an Excel spreadsheet in the 2000s. Around 2007 I switched to a program called ComicBase which I really like.
