SG-U – Blockade - (2x19) - (Discuss – Grade | SPOILERS)

http://www.syfy.com/universe/

Destiny is attacked by drone ships while attempting to recharge its power reserves, forcing most of the crew to gate to a nearby planet while Eli tries a risky alternative.

Well, this is the next to last episode folks!

I am sad this is the second to last episode.

This show was finally getting on it's legs only to be shot down in it's dawning prime.

Re: SG-U – Blockade - (2x19) - (Discuss – Grade | SPOILERS)

"How is that not close enough?" Sounds like a new catch phrase they were starting there with Young, I like it! Thats really cool, if the show were to have continued, someone would say we can't do so and so till bla bla minutes, and Young would always say "How is that not close enough?" lol I like it

This was a phenomenal episode, I really like the direction they are/were taking the show. They do space stuff really well, I mean how many SCIFI shows have we seen on TV where they actually bring real world science to space, aerobraking, flying into stars, just the reality of it, its awesome.

I'm saddened that we won't get to see where all this is going cause I actually quite like it now, SGU has grown on me in a big way in S2. I want more

I really liked the cool Destiny visuals in this ep with the air breaking and flying into the blue giant star. They really have found an overarching story line with the drones that probably should have been there much sooner. I liked Young's quip about the chair and not being Captain Kirk. One more episode.

Yep, but de facto New Novus would have been cool to see on screen though.

Yeah, really. I suppose I can see why they didn't/couldn't bother, but still.

Another amazing episode in this closing half of the season. This story arc with the human colonies has been great. I found all of the misspelled signs humorous, although it was unlikely they'd have retained everything so close to Earth with how little of our culture would have been retained past the first generation, but I was willing to overlook that for how good the episode was.
Again the humour was good, and both storylines were interesting and done well.

So, the galaxy Destiny travels in is now colonized by humans, just like the Milky Way and the Pegasus galaxies? Except that this galaxy is inhabited by Destiny's "descendants". The latter part is what makes it cool, I guess.

I wonder if we'll finally find out something about the origins of the drones in the next and final episode. I've been suspecting some sort of connection with the "Novosians" for two weeks now.

Ah, and liked that Lt. James really kicked ass this episode.

Im willing to bet the drones are from Futura

As for the episode, a solid 9 from me. I've loved near enough every episode this season, ive said it before and i'll say it again - its a damned shame its been canned.

SGU is truly the anti-ST: Voyager. It rarely takes the easy way out. They continue to make the reference to running low on certain supplies (like bullets), they need to get lime again because with the Novous travellers they are getting low on oxygen again. And now that garden that had grown over the past year has been mostly wiped out and the crew would have to start from scratch. It just reminds me how VOY repeatedly allowed the crew of its show to have almost every luxury as if they were getting regular supplies from Starfleet. Of course SGU detractors would argue that the whole running-out-of-supplies element is "boring". To each his own.

And the drones are the kick-ass relentless foes that the Borg used to be before First Contact and Voyager diminshed them (it).

Good job, SGU.

The resource thing is actually one aspect of SGU I can't complain about. They've done a pretty good job of selling the fact that the ship is a barely-functioning rustbucket with limited supplies, and they keep running low on necessities.

Another great hour.....loved the humor. Next week is gonna be tough.......... Wish I were wealthy enough.....I'd finance a season 3 myself then charge outrageous prices for the DVD's!

Trust me, by season 4 you'd complain how they always run low in energy and supplies and still miraculously make it through every crisis.
