Re: House: 7x23 "Moving On" - Discussion and Spoilers
And did House know that they'd be out of the dining room at that moment? Interesting argument House made to the performance artist, that if she changed her priorities now and chose life and love over her dedication to her art and the pain that came with it, then it would render all her past experiences meaningless. I guess the subtext was that he's afraid to really change his life because it would require admitting that all the suffering he's put himself through wasn't really necessary.

Re: House: 7x23 "Moving On" - Discussion and Spoilers
Not really sure how I feel about this but my feelings, passion and even "sympathy" for the House character has slipped a lot over the last 1/2-season and far from where it was when the series began. I can see where he's coming from, know people react like this all of the time, but... Wow. One also wonders how it he gets out of all of this between now and next season and how he retains not only his freedom but his medical license. Also, the framing of the episode suggests that Cuddy and Wilson were talking to the police/fire department about this incident probably within an hour of it happening. (And the fire department and crowd that seemed to be there seemed to be too much for a car crashed into a House and no one being hurt.) I think it's impossible that within the time it took the police to get there and start filing a report that House could've even gotten to an airport let-alone, to an airport, bought a plane-ticket, waited for the departure time, boarded a plane, and then flew to Hawaii.

On the bright side, there's now a perfectly good reason for Cuddy not to be on the show next season - she GTFO of Jersey and ran for her life!!! |

Re: House: 7x23 "Moving On" - Discussion and Spoilers
The bigger problem than how House got away to the beach somewhere is how did he, on foot, manage to avoid the cops? Assume that someone called 911 immediately. Police would respond within fifteen minutes. Hobbling, House might be no more than half a mile from Cuddy's house when the police start screaming into the neighborhood. No, there's some serious time compression going on. Cuddy goes from a difficult lunch with House to running into the guy her sister wanted to fix her up with to having a dinner party with sister and guy, all in the span of about five hours. (It's clearly all the same day, since Wilson asks House how the lunch with Cuddy was.) So maybe House going to ground isn't quite so unlikely.

Re: House: 7x23 "Moving On" - Discussion and Spoilers
On the time issue, it's a trope in TV that there's rarely a dawn/dusk time period simply because those times of day are narrow and require a lot of timing to shoot for (costing more money.) Even the "real-time" TV series 24 mostly ignored dawn/dusk as it wore on because it's simply too hard to plan and time for so given this it's "possible" that House rammed the house "at dusk"/before nightfall, so probably around 7 PM. As you said 911 would get there fairly quickly, get the report and then when "Gregg House" is named he'd go on a "watch" list all probably before he'd even pull up to the terminal in a cab or on a bus.
