Re: "Bread and Circuses" Line-by-Line!
Can someone confirm what Proconsul Claudius Marcus shouts to his stormtroopers when he orders them to attack Kirk and company in their prison cell? I've never been able to make it out. This transcription thread quotes Proconsul as shouting "Swords only!" I'm not doubting that; I would just appreciate confirmation. The scene after that where Captain Merrick whips out a Starfleet communicator and calls for help, to be fittingly stabbed in the back, and then tosses the talkie into the cell to save Kirk's bacon, is one of my all-time favorites. This ep is seriously underrated. It puts the "classic" in "classic STAR TREK".

Re: "Bread and Circuses" Line-by-Line!
I'm surprised, with the wacky senses of humor we've got in this mad group of transcribers, that someone didn't post the following: Kirk: Stand back. (Shatner is picked up and ran back across the set by Ted Cassidy) Shatner: Hey! I don't know about you, but this is not the way it should work! I want you to know!!
