Hannah Murray (best known for Skins) has been cast as Gilly. GRRM's latest casting clues point to Ben Crompton as Dolorous Edd.

Michael McElhatton looks perfect for Roose Bolton, one of the most hated characters in the books.

Nah, he's a fairly stable, well-adjusted guy compared to his son.

Roose Bolton is far worse, he's just better at hiding it.

..and there's a lot of Irish actors in this show generally. I assume conveience has something to do with it (easier Irish then shipping in say, Australians) but all the same.

By the end of the 3rd Book it felt like, i wasn't reading a book, but a script for a movie.
Only in movies and anime can one ever expect to see so many twisted plots and deaths.

Highgarden and Dorne.

They seem to have been focused on, very late.
Was there purpose to replace all the character that have left the pages of the story?

Didn't really understood the purpose of spending 2 chapters on princess Arianne plot just to end it with one line: "someone told ... someone always tells."

So far i am having hard time believeing it took the writer 5 years to write 4th book. Compared to the 3 that came befor, that only took 4 years for all of them.

I am really hoping they wont set a side a whole season for 4th Book - nothing much interesting seem to be happening in it so far.

My understanding is they've said they'll combine A Feast for Crows and A Dance With Dragons for the TV show - similar to how that's essentially a split novel. I'd like to see that covered by just one season of TV, but it's possible if we get that far it'll be two or more seasons.

A Storm of Swords will be split into 2 season (if they get that far)

http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...on-2-more.html

Benioff: A Storm of Swords will not be a single season.

None of the books really need more than one season. There's a lot of fat in every book after AGOT that could be trimmed.
