I'm wondering if somehow Talisa survives this and Mellisandre acquires her to have another "kings" blood.
I don't think so - she's already leaving Westeros and likely headed back to Dragonstone with Gendry.

However - we DO still have the Red Priest Thoros of Myr floating about with the BHw/oB, who may get a similar idea about King's blood after having met with Mellisandre briefly during her visit. We already know they will eventually "run into" Kat at some point and are in the general vicinity of the RW down at the Twins. It wouldn't be as much of a stretch for him to get a hold of Talisa and, ergo, Robb's child.

But now I think we'll REALLY be deviating from the written version way too drastically if that happens.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones Spoiler-Filled Discussion

So I saw this story
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/t...ss-scenes.html
Now, however, a star of the series has disclosed that one of its leading actresses has refused to appear in any more topless shots.

Oona Chaplin, who plays the noblewoman Talisa Maegyr, tells Mandrake: “One of the girls in the show who got her kit off the most in the first couple of seasons now doesn’t at all because she said, 'I want to be known for my acting not for my breasts.’ ”

The granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin refuses to name the actress, but there has been much comment among viewers about Emilia Clarke, who plays the king’s daughter Daenerys Targaryen, no longer appearing in such scenes.

Chaplin, 26, says she has no problem with the nudity herself. “I’m quite controversial when it comes to that because I adore women’s bodies,” she says at the first night of The Great Gatsby ballet at Sadler’s Wells. “If it’s done in a beautiful way, in a way that honours the female form, then I’m always happy to see it.”

Eh if Chaplin has problem being nude and showing her body why are her love scenes always dimly lit or shot at angles to not reveal everything?

Although I guess this reduces the chances that she survives this season. Not really smart to be picking fights with people on a show you're still going to be part of, but if she's done filming and know's that she's not going to be back might be a bit of sour grapes being off a hit show.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones Spoiler-Filled Discussion

On Emilia Clarke's second season commentary track with director Alan Taylor he joked that her answer to any request for nudity in the second season would be a flat no. They shared a laugh about it. It does look like she put her foot down and didn't want to do any more nudity on the show, at least for a while, her position being very different as a popular star of an established hit rather than a newbie fresh out of drama school and cast in a plum role in the first season. She's obviously not completely averse to more nudity since she went nude on stage, but she probably wanted a break from screen nudity, especially given the incessant questions posed to her about it.

She might have been talking about Esme Bianco. Clarke was already being praised for her acting chops in season one, while Bianco was mainly there for the nudity and sexposition.

Esme Bianco didn't have as much nudity in the third season, but she did still have nude scenes.

I wouldn't call one half-bared breast nudity considering HBO's usual standards.

It's still nudity, albeit lesser nudity than what she did before. And Emilia Clarke is still the better bet. Bianco has a burlesque and cabaret background, has posed nude, and has spoken in defence of the show's nude scenes.

Edit to add: it's rumored that Emilia has a nude scene in tonight's episode. So, who knows? Maybe Oona Chaplin is just full of crap.

and quite a lengthy nude scene showing much more than anything Chaplin has ever done on the show. Perhaps it was Esme Bianco or even Sibel Kekilli since I don't think Shae has shown anything this year even though there were VERY many opportunities for those types of scenes with Tyrion in the books.

I realize both actresses have done significant nudity in the past, but that doesn't really mean anything. In fact maybe Bianco regretted being the postergirl for the show's nudity since she kept being asked about it so much and felt it defined her too much.

So I'm not sure what an actress has done in the past matters once they think they need to get 'away' from it for their careers. Traci Lords was a porn star, but once she went mainstream she did very few movies with nude scenes.

Sibel Kekilli did porn, too.

And has been recognized and awarded for her acting talent long before GoT was even announced.
I still think Bianco is the most likely candidate.

Yep, although I think she's the weakest cast member in Game of Thrones. But her work in Germany is probably a lot better.

Well, now I have finished all of the Dunk and Egg stories. I quite liked 1 and 3. 2 was okay.

Bloodraven's involvement in the last story made me stupidly excited when all of those ravens showed up in last night's ep.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones Spoiler-Filled Discussion

I like Kekelli's performance in GOT a lot. She's the only reason the transformation of the character into yet another "strong woman" doesn't annoy me.

Moving a discussion that's getting a bit spoilery out of an episode thread:
I believe that he was offered the chance to write the penultimate episode of this season but said that once was enough to have to write one particular scene - you can probably guess what.
That wouldn't surprise me. Apparently he found writing the Red Wedding in the books so unpleasant that he did all of the rest of A Storm of Swords first, then finally doubled back to do those key chapters.

Even if he didn't want episode nine, though, he could have done something more meaningful than "The Bear and the Maiden Fair." "And Now His Watch is Ended," for example, although Benioff and Weiss did a fine job on that one by themselves.
I know that this is an adaptation and that this character doesn't have to be exactly like Ramsay in the books (any more than, say, Locke has to be like Vargo Hoat). But the Ramsay of the books was a psychotic sadist who would simply have walked in and chopped off Theon's cock. I don't see him going to all the trouble of getting whores and giving them a script to go in and follow.

Indeed, the Ramsay of the books would probably have found it impossible to resist setting his dogs on the whores and then raped and killed them himself, long before he could persuade them to go in and mock-seduce Theon.
Yeah. TV Ramsay's penchant for psychological games just doesn't ring true to the setting and the character background, where brutality is less nuanced. Someone like Qyburn might toy with his victims, but I don't see where Ramsay would get that kind of twisted intellectual curiosity.

The Ramsay in the books used fear of torture and his father's position to do as he pleased.

There was some cleverness to him, but he lacked restraint and did not exhibit much forethought.

He seemed clueless as to how his actions were undermining the family's position. The Northern Lords probably never loved Roose before he was made paramount lord in the North, but knowing his heir was a pyschopath that hunts women with dogs probably spurred many of them to look for ways undercut the Boltons (loyalty to House Stark aside).

Ramsay was already infamous for starving Lady Hornwood to death, and his penchant for hunting women for sport seemed to be known.

The show seems to be styling Ramsay like Roose. Roose is brutal and smart. Ramsay (in the books) was brutish and lacked the mental faculties to rule effectively.
