Intendant Kira's role in Warpath/The Soul Key

While I know she was a feint, I don't understand how she thought she had Taran'atar under her control.

The mirror Kira is often the victim of her own hubris. In just about every episode she appeared in she gets done in by someone she, while probably doesn't trust, at least believes she has control over. Ben, Miles, Jennifer, Bareil, Ezri...

Iliana used Shing-Kur to persuade L'Haan to persuade the Intendant, if I recall.

^ Yeah, it was Shing-kur, probably the most interesting new character established in the later novels. I seem to recall she posed as a Jem'Hadar when talking to the Intendant.

I can't wait to get caught with DS9 relaunch lit and get to the MU stories. Warpath has a great cover and an enticing back cover blurb.

Just to warn you, most people hated the MU storyline in the last couple DS9 books. I didn't think it was it was that bad, but it certainly wasn't the series high point. Still, I wouldn't get to excited about it. The Mirror Universe series on the other hand, ranges from ok, to friggin' amazing.

I would also hasten to point out that, because we have striven to keep the books' continuity as consistent as possible, my upcoming Mirror Universe novel, Rise Like Lions, takes into account and builds upon the events seen in Saturn's Children, Warpath, Fearful Symmetry, and The Soul Key, as well as on the Shards and Shadows anthology and the other stories in the first two MU volumes.

Cool. I'm starting to think I might want to go back and reread the MU stuff. I haven't read it since it all first came out, and I don't remember much of it very well.

That's great news. I have to still catch up to the DS9/MU books, but I have them as well the anthologies, including Sorrows of the Empire.

BTW, what is "Three" that wiki has as a book between Sorrows of the Empire and Warpath?

That was a Stargazer novel. It is pretty much unnconnected to the current story though, it was written several years before Glass Empires established the current MU storyline. I wouldn't go to wikipedia for Trek book info, it's not that great there. The best place to go is Memory Beta.

Thanks. How much of a MU story was Stargazer's "Three"?

Not sure, I haven't read Stargazer yet. But, I believe it features the Mirror Universe counterpart of two of the characters (I believe a pair of twins in the Prime Universe are one person in the MU).

Not much. There is one character (as mentioned above) who crosses over into "our" universe from a timeline that strongly resembles the Mirror Universe but isn't unambiguously established as such.
