I would say Cardassians were known of in some fashion. What kind of relations--or what depth--isn't known one way or the other yet. I'll be interested to see if the next movie addresses it, though I personally have my theories.

Since nuUhura ordered Cardassian Sunrise, they were known, but knowing their drink doesn't mean there was any official or direct contact. Ferengi might have brought it and sold it to the Federation territory.

Well, if we could come up with some interesting plot, then who knows. But you'd also have to know basic summary of my stories, as Brenok is not just a Cardassian singer and certainly not a healer

Oh I know, I've only read 2 of your stories. (Sorry)

Annette is not just a singer either. I'd like to see them battle or something, then Annette somehow sees his sensitive side (ie, singing) and reevaluates her hatred of Cardassians. Actually much like I personally did.

The problem is that to really know Brenok you'd have to read 2 stories, all right, but the longest ones that in fact are full novels

I'm not sure how she could hear Brenok's singing. I mean--there were Federation people who had a chance to witness his humming but they certainly hadn't been in battle a moment earlier
