Clip 4, Zod is having a hard time

Man of Steel Has Made Almost Its Entire Budget Back Already

Warner Bros. has booked a whopping 98 promotional partners worldwide — so far — that are providing about $170 million in support (on top of paid ads) for Man of Steel.

That’s even more than The Dark Knight Rises’ $150 million in third-party promos last summer. In addition to those already on board, Warners sources say even more international partners are expected before the movie takes flight June 14 in the U.S. and elsewhere this summer.

Warner Bros. would not discuss their third-party promotions or provide any figures but did confirm some of those who are involved. Sources say that Man of Steel has been a much easier movie to pitch to partners than The Dark Knight Rises, which was darker in theme and plot.

OK, that clip was great, but really set off my spoiler meter.

Have to say, for an A- grade, you sure don't sound all that crazy or enthusiastic about it. Kinda sounds more like a B- review.

His review made it sound as if it will be great yet he also sounded less enthusiastic about it. Strange.

The thing I got out of Trekker's review is that I would seem to be correct in that it's structure seems to be very close to "Batman Begins". The other thing is that he seems to have enjoyed parts of the film, but not everything and yet it was better than "Sueprman: Returns".

If that means Liam Neeson is playing the real Zod, I'm psyched.

I grade on an odd curve, it's probably more a straight-B movie but that felt too low. Yeah it is almost a BB feel. I really liked it, more on reflection, and I'll see it again on release but its not quite the Superman movie I would have liked. Still, better than SR more action and look than the Donner film(s) but still lacking "something." I'll stick around for the rest of today to answer any questions/concerns. (Spoiler Coded, of course.)

Actually the Batman Begins comparison I kind of understand. That was a really well-made, great looking movie with a lot of great scenes... that I still somehow had a hard time really loving.

Kinda sounds like you're the same way with this movie.

The color palette for this film seems a bit muted and grey for a superman film. Almost a bit rough, as if unfinished...

Yeah I have to admit, that's the one thing about the visuals I'm not crazy about. They could have easily made the film look gritty and realistic without also being gray and murky.

But to be fair, a lot of superhero and scifi movies nowadays sort of have that same look, so it's not a new thing. And hopefully after a few minutes I won't really notice it as much.
