Nah, I think it's a nifty idea, too. Very stylish. I plan to install it on my new computer sometime in the autumn (I haven't even baought the computer, yet).

It reminds me of the computer game Escape Velocity Nova, though I'm pretty sure the concept of an artificial ring around the earth didn't originate with the game

I can understand but Unity looks a lot like my old Gnome desktop, I don't really see the difference except that I had the panel (hidden most of the time) at the bottom :

After careful deliberation, i've decided to let TrekBBS be graced with the presence of the almighty Toughbook. Now back after a long term illness.
