NX-100 Daedalus in drydock (WIP)

Before I started the Dauntless, this was the project I was working on. It has been shelved for the time being as the welding fx kit and misc lighting costs are holding me back.
she's in my closet waiting to be completed.

here is what I have so far:

An amazing start.

I've done some kitbashing, but scratch-building is a whole other level. I envy your talent and especially your patience.

It looks like those are working warp engines.

Could you use large thin sheets to cover the nacelles instead of strips or is there a method to your madness?

Wow, I can't even begin to imagine how much work must have gone into this and it's not even finished. Hope you'll someday be able to complete this beauty.

Amazing work!

Nice! I really like the interior of that shuttlebay. How much of that will you be able to see once it's complete?
The mini-astronauts doing construction are cute!

yes those are warp coils you see. The look i'll be going for is about 40% completed, so there will be lots of workpods buzzing about and several welding strobes flashing at different intervals.

The drydock is going to be a huge challenge, as I have to build a drydock somewhere in between this

and this

so any suggestions will be enthusiastically welcomed!

I'd reccomend going for a look closer to the later drydock. The simpler, the better, IMO.

Wow, that looks simply amazing. I envy your patience - it looks like you really put a lot of work into that. Very nice job; I would love to see it when it is complete.
