Fucking Bane? Really? That's more than a little weird. Nolan finds a way to make this stuff work though. And Tom Hardy is good news too, performances in certain franchise killing movies notwithstanding.

But Hathaway as Catwoman is just 100% awesome.

I love it. Bane needs a serious interpretation and Nolan is the man to do it! I'm psyched that we're also seeing Catwoman! Anne Hathaway is a gorgeous actor, along with being incredibly talented to boot!

Yep. Bane was originally conceived to be, more than any other villain, Batman's equal in intelligence and ability; Bane's weakness was that he had come to rely on strength enhancing drugs as his edge.

I think of Bane as a formidable villain. He's known as the guy who broke and defeated Batman, so topping that, or just creating a story that's equally compelling won't be easy. It would be an interesting twist if Nolan's Bane also broke Batman and the trilogy ends with Bruce being forced to hand over the mantle to someone else like he did in Knightfall. His stint as Batman wasn't intended to be permanent, so in a way, he'd be getting his wish.

As for Anne Hathaway, she doesn't strike me as an ideal choice, no one does actually, but I can get used to her as Selina Kyle...

So, having a 3.5hr meeting this morning. Breaking for lunch. Then a 2hr meeting puts one really behind on this today. Page 4 already!!

Count me as one who says, "What?! Bane....Chris you got me on that one, didn't see it coming!!" I can only hope that Bane will have a more literal translation of the version from the comics. Anything really will be a vast improvement over the random junkie stooge from B&R.

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, MEOW!!! I to thought of her from Get Smart in that black outfit she wore there.

So this means Talia is out then? I no longer want to assume the other female role is going to be Vicki Vale. I mean 99.5% of the internet was sold on Hugo Strange. With Catwoman you could have the love interst for Bruce who starts bad and turns semi-good at the end to defeat a yet to be cast Talia and Bane. Bane has teamed up with Ras & Talia before afterall. I could totally buy Bane being used as an instrument of The Demons Hand to go after Gotham and it's hero.

I was hoping for a triumvirate of Bane, Scarecrow, and Killer Croc. ( Yes, Scarecrow again - we know he's not dead and one should use an asset like Cillian Murphy. )

Hardy as Bane is great casting; he's already shown he can be extremely intelligent and convincingly physical.

Hathaway as Catwoman is a bit unexpected. Her standard persona is a long way from femme fatale, but she's a great actress, so I don't doubt she has the range.

And Tom Hardy as Bane? I really enjoyed his performance in Inception but the character of Bane does nothing for me. I'm hoping he's not the primary villain.
