yeah, Bruce Wayne getting killed off would be a bad idea.

But in a larger sense it wouldn't matter too much-they can just reboot the film series again, and Nolan's not making any more anyway.
Yet the only way to make sure that the studio never bothers Nolan or Bale with annoying phone calls is to kill off Bruce Wayne.

ha! That's what Arthur Conan Doyle thought about Sherlock Holmes, too.

I was thinking James Caan and Misery.

I've heard rumors that Gotham gets nuked at the end, but I'm not sure if I believe that or not.

That's no guarantee to do the trick either. Ever hear of a TV show called Sledge Hammer? Put the hero at ground zero of a nuclear bomb at the end of the first season because the thought they were getting canceled. Then the network ordered another season.

My friend's sister is the next door neighbor of some guy who works in a soup kitchen who talked to a homeless bum who was rummaging through the trash of Christopher Nolan's hairdresser who claimed hearing a rumor that Superman (played by Dean Cain, in a surprise cameo) shows up at the end of the movie.

Zack Snyder debunks that rumour.

Broccoli is just upset he couldn't work in an "ignore The Last Stand" joke.

What? Based on the trailer, I think it is fairly obvious that Nolan feels The Last Stand is the only X-Men film that aligns with his filmmaking and storytelling style. It is obvious that TDKR will tie into the Phoenix plotline from The Last Stand and that this Miranda Tate character is really Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in disguise. Clearly, Nolan isn't ignoring The Last Stand. Why would he want to? After all, the only purpose for this movie to exist is to set-up X-Men 4 and The Avengers since the Sam Jackson/Nick Fury cameo is all, but confirmed. The Dean Cain appearance is obviously meant to give some closure to Lois & Clark fans (and possibly to set-up a live-action adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns - at least that's the rumor).

Well, with Bane talking about ashes when he isn't being completely incomprehensible, how could it not be connected to the Phoenix storyline from The Last Stand?

It gets nuked, but the nuke only causes the city to shrink to a tiny size where it's kept in a refrigerator in the Fortress of Solitude in "Man of Steel."
