NuBSG Role-playing Game?

I was quite surprised to learn that a RPG based on the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica was published in 2007. I'd have thought it would be somewhat difficult dreaming up exciting and imaginative new adventures, given the somewhat limited nature of the TV show's universe. Has anyone here read this?

^Earth ethnicities and accents don't map onto the colonies precisely. Witness Baltar recognizing Boomer as being from his native Aerilon by her accent (which is totally different from both the ones he used). Also, this would appear to have posted in the wrong thread.

I never heard too much about the BSG roleplaying game. I've recently heard folks raving about the BSG board game, though. I'd consider getting it myself if I had three other die-hard nuBSG fans who lived close enough to consider playing it.

I've never heard about the RPG either, but I own and regularly play with the board game. It's the best board game I've ever seen. I've got a few friends who even started watching the show because of the board game! I even got one or two who thinks the show is stupid, and still plays with us!

Yeah, I really need to pick up that board game. I hear such good things about it.

My husband LOVES the board game, and even bought the expansion. Yes, he's a board game geek. I've played once or twice with him and his friends--not really my favorite, but all the guys really like it.

Re: NuBSG Role-playing Game?

The Battlestar Galactica RPG was produced by Margaret Weis Productions. They released a core rulebook (both in print and as a PDF) that uses the company's Cortex System. I think there might also have been a GM's screen, but I could be wrong about that.

Other than that, there were free PDFs containing supplementary material like pregenerated player characters, info on the fleet's black market, how to create your own rag-tag fleet and how to run campaigns with different versions of the skinjobs so the players wouldn't immediately know who was a Cylon (i.e., there was a Six, but it wasn't the Six from the series). There were also some downloadable scenarios in which the players had to survive the attack on the Colonies and find a ship to escape offworld.

The license for the RPG has run out, however, so the PDF version of the game is no longer legally available online, unfortunately.

As an aside, Margaret Weis Productions also published an RPG for Firefly (under the name Serenity - also no longer available) and currently publishes RPGs for Supernatural, Smallville and Leverage. You can preview and (legally) buy these games at the DriveThruRPG online shop.
