I did not know that ants and cinnamon didn't mix. I am going to try that. Not only environmentally friendly, I'll bet it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the ant-spray. Thanks, trekkiedane!!

My purchase was a cappuccino on the way to work.

Guessing you have looked it up by now... it's an old trick that I don't even know why I know, it may or may not work for you -but do try it and let us know how successful you are with it.

Haven't purchased anything (yet) today, but as it was the day I was supposed to go to the DIY-discount-store I have my list ready:
  • Rope to hang up my bike with.
  • Pot to plant something in.
  • Soil to put in the pot.
  • Wheels for my sack truck (the kind that doesn't puncture).

ETA:
I just pre-ordered this from Amazon.

Re: Your latest purchases, cont.

^There's a great comfort in having a big sack of cat-food in the house -I usually buy them three at a time

Just ordered Scouting for Boys on Amazon... been thinking about it since Stephen Fry quoted from it on QI:

Scouting For Boys has this advice to offer on the following subjects:

Suicide: 'When a man has gone so far as to attempt suicide, a scout should know what to do with him. In a case where the would-be suicide has taken poison, give milk and make him vomit, which is done by tickling the inside of the throat with a finger or a feather…In the case of hanging, cut down the body at once, taking care to support it with one arm while cutting the cord… A tenderfoot [novice] is sometimes inclined to be timid about handling an insensible man or a dead man, or even of seeing blood. Well, he won’t be much use till he gets over such nonsense.'
/.../
Emphasis mine (and Frys).

It's not that I have to read non-pc books, but if they promise as much hilarity as this one, I really do!

Re: Your latest purchases, cont.

A trimmed, light blue knit top and a blue, shawl collar sweater, from Coldwater Creek---then bought a sequined top from Coldwater Creek's website.

I just found out that they are going to go out of business soon. I don't think I can cope.

*sigh*

Also bought a new pillow at Bed, Bath and Beyond, and, to console myself, I bought a BLT from Jimmy John's.

Chocolate milk, colby/monterey jack cheese, Nutella (no more imitations), cinnamon rolls (for Nutella, since I've not tried it on top of anything yet), cat treats, catnip.
