Re: Halo: Reach

Does the game still have that annoying bump mapping pop up effect that Halo 3 had?

Spartans can't drive worth shit.

Note to self: Driving a forklift into a group of Covenant is not advisable.

Re: Halo: Reach

Whereas the entire covenant army is psychic and can predict your every move. The enemy AI is scarily impressive. I just wish friendlies were on par with Halo 1 AI....

I got it about half an hour after my post, of course. It is glorious. I still prefer CoD's controls (heresy! ), but I love the Halo universe, and Bungie's presentation is top notch, as always.

Had to work late tonight, so I only got in a couple games.

I like the legendary edition bonus. The flaming heads are much easier to hit.

I picked up my pre-ordered copy today, and played some of the campaign. I'm really liking it so far.

Re: Halo: Reach

haha I'm still stuck on the Cortana level of Halo 3 so I'm in no rush to pick this up. Although I probably will next payday.

Haven't even played ODST yet. Own it, just haven't played it.

What I want to know about Reach is, does it screw up continuity with the Fall of Reach novel? I'm assuming it doesn't, as the Halo guys have proven that they are trying to keep a cohesive canon going, ala the Star Wars stuff.

Quick sidenote: I like how in the book Reach falls around Sept 14th 2552, and the game was released on the 14th. Thought that was cool.

Re: Halo: Reach

Quick question: I finished the game this morning and I unlocked the "UNSC Falcon with controller" thingy. I downloaded it but I have no idea where I could display it?

It'll be in the area where you customize your avatar, I'm assuming. Where you change your clothes and stuff. Just load it up like you would if you were changing your avatar's hat or shirt and it'll probably fly around you or something silly like that.

I'm re-reading the Fall of Reach novel right now, but I won't end up playing the game until it drops in price six months from now...

^ Exactly, it's an XBL avatar prop, like the RC Warthog and the 343 Guilty Spark style Monitor.

Edit:

Legendary, baby!

^^ If THAT comes with the Legendary Edition, I'm definitely NOT getting it. Got enough of those little creatures running around already.

Re: Halo: Reach

^ BTW, PennyArcade's recent comic also deals with the matter of parents playing Halo: Reach
