Danube-class runabout in Star Trek: Infinite Space!

The Star Trek: Infinite Space website has released the 3D model of the Danube-class runabout for the game.

I think the game itself will use the same software to work. It is a browser game afterall.

Hmmm, after watching that trailer I have to ask: is this just going to be an MMO version of Armada?

Pretty much. There's a reason most of the Star Trek Infinite Space promos feature the cinematics, but shy away from actual gameplay footage.

Well, I guess it's hard to complain when it's free-to-play and I did enjoy Armada so I'll give it a chance when it launches.

Exactly. The software itself is brilliant. It can in effect, allow some console quality games to be played via the browser. In fact, one of the games using it is a multiplayer CoD like FPS. It's a bit like a next-generation version of Shockwave 3D (Director). It's also the engine that powers the Battlestar Galactica game, which isn't really all that great a game to begin with.
