Movie Mini Reviews

Join in and give us all a little review of the movies you see.

I just rented It's Complicated last night. Here's my mini review.

It's Complicated
Basically, it's a chick-flick for the middle-aged.

Meryl Streep's character, Jane, begins an affair with her ex-husband, Jake, played by Alec Baldwin, who is remarried to a younger woman. She also begins to have feelings for the Steve Martin character, her architect, who completes the triangle. The guy who almost steal the show in this movie is John Krasinski who plays Jane and Jake's future son-in-law Harley, who is put in the uncomfortable position of being the only one of the younger set (Jane and Jake's three children and Harley) who knows about the affair.

It's light, fluffy, and not very believeable (e.g., none of the characters have jobs that would justify their fabulous homes and life-styles) but the movie does have a tiny bit of pathos hidden in there.

It's watchable, but I doubt that anyone would want to see it a second time.
