Re: Spider-Man movie (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Well, the points raised regarding First Class are interesting, but I can't say that for myself they're especially persuasive. I'll continue to regard it as being better than X1 or Last Stand.

Yeah, it might not have been perfect, but I still love First Class.

I have no interest in persuading anybody. Believe it or not, I am perfectly content to let people have their own opinions, even if they're different from mine.

Crazy concept, huh?

...the next Spidey movie. I'm not interested, so I probably won't see it (unless the reviews are outstanding)...
Yeah, the bottom line for me is that I just saw (back in 2001 or so) a Spidey origin movie. I don't need to pay to see that particular story again.

Re: Spider-Man movie (casting, rumors, pix till release)

For me, what they're doing with this one seems to be different enough that I'm willing to give it a chance. If they had gone back to Green Goblin and MJ for the love interest and villain I probably wouldn't plan on seeing it, but since they have a different villain and love interest, and seem to be going for a very different tone I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up seeing it, unless it gets a horrible reaction from the critics and here.

Yeah, a green villain who was created as the result of science accident and a girl he meets in HS (who changed her hair color for the role) as the female lead are nothing like the villain and love interest of the first film.

Well at least Uncle Ben shouldn't be in this one. We've seen that whole thing before.

Uncle Ben is central to Spider-Man's origin story. Why would he not be included?

Nice. I am rather baffled by that tag line. I guess they're trying to get across the fact that they're taking a different approach to the story, but you'd think they could have found a different way to communicate that.
