Also to follow up Marcus Johnson is revealed as the son of Nick Fury, the article further implies as Rich has been talking about the last few months since Battle Scars started, that Marvel may intend him to replace his father. He's essentially the 616 version of Ultimate Fury.

I just read Captain America: Winter Soldier. (I'm way behind, I know.) I was very impressed. Much better characterisation and timing than the Avengers vs. X-Men.

Until we find out about what's going on with "Alpha" Nick Fury I'm reserving judgement.

My cursory opinion is this unnecessary mixing up of the "Nick's". It's not like the movies bring in a significant amount of new readers to comics. If it did and those readers stayed Marvel would have better justification for this. Instead it just screams of "playing in the moment", retconning for the sake of doing so by editorial fiat.

From what I've read, "Alpha" Nick will be appearing in Defenders and Winter Soldier as an independent agent separate from SHIELD proper. While Marcus Johnson will be working with SHIELD.

Meh, batman comic did the same thing in the 1990s for the Burton films for the most part.

If you mean going from the Blue/Gray to all Black attired outfit that is not the same thing as what is going on with Nick Fury.

TurtleTrekker mentioned what is going on with Nick right now...post AVX though things might change. *Shrugs*. I really don't care either way. I didn't pick up Battle Scars but not willing to write off this Johnston character yet. Will make my opinion known after he starts appearing and interacting with the rest of the Marvel U.


Most important thing though: Agent Coulson is in 616! WOOT! It was really only a matter of time.
