Star Trek 365 by Paula M. Block

I browsed Amazon earlier, and it seems as if there will be a Trek non-fiction book coming in September:

Star Trek 365 by Paula M. Block, with an introduction by D.C. Fontana

In a reply on a Facebook group (you have to scroll down a bit) Paula M. Block says this about the book:

"FYI, if you're interested in nonfiction and some very pretty pictures that (theoretically) you've never seen before, look for STAR TREK 365 this autumn. A totally TOS coffee table book!"

I saw that too, but I figured it was just a 365 day calendar.

Hmm...sounds mildly interesting. I'm not too huge on coffee table books (pun intended), but if there's new stuff in here, I might give it a look.

I just read about this today:
Star Trek 365 Hardcover: 744 pages
(Abrams Books - release date September 1, 2010)
...Star Trek 365 covers the entire series in unprecedented detail, combining in-depth commentary, behind-the-scenes histories and interviews with writers, cast and crew with synopses for each of the original series' 79 episodes, accompanied by hundreds of photographs.
looks pretty good.

unprecedented is defined as:
"never before known or experienced; unexampled or unparalleled"
With the exception of the licensed photographs I don't know how much more the 'unprecedented detail' could be than http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Portal:Main
which is
the most definitive, accurate, and accessible encyclopedia and reference for everything related to Star Trek.
with links to trivia, coincidences in episodes and many references linking to many other episodes. Pretty much the bible for Star Trek canon (and even non-canon books, comics, videogames)
memory-alpha sets the precedent or authority.

and http://www.trektoday.com/episodes/tos/
for synopses and links to multiple reviews for every TOS episode.

The book Star Trek 365 may be good for people who refuse to use the Internet but I don't think it could be better than the above two websites for all things TOS.
It really bothers me when marketing says something like this 'unprecedented detail' to sell a product. CBS Consumer Products & Abrams Books just don't want to acknowlege memory-alpha [Wikia, Inc.] really has all the information as user-created content.
Even CBS Consumer Products refuses to acknowledge this definitive authority memory-alpha has as This summer CBS is relaunching the site startrek.com featuring the official Star Trek database.
Official or not. It will not be comprehensive like memory-alpha is.

Abrams, formerly Harry N. Abrams, Inc. (HNA), is an American publisher of high-quality art and illustrated books, and is presently a subsidiary of the French publisher La Martinière Groupe.

Founded by Harry N. Abrams in 1949, Abrams was the first company in the United States to specialize in the creation and distribution of art books.

If this is anything like the STAR WARS 365 DAYS book that came out from Abrams a few years ago, we are in for a real treat. That book was packed with photos I had never seen before, and I have most of the published SW non-fiction books. Let's just say it set a very high bar.

Sounds like Star Trek 101 with more pictures, but I do like some of the picture-heavy Star Trek books, so it may be worth a look.
