^ Exactly. I won't believe it's the final season until they've aired the series finale... and even then I may not believe it for a couple of weeks.

Re: Smallville to end at season 10(finally!)

Tom Welling mentioned that season ten will be the last season at some event last night and there was supposed to be an offical press conference this morning or something where they were gonna announce it. It was in Michael Ausillero's article.

Maybe that's why he doesn't give many interview, he easily spills the beans.

http://www.hollywoodlife.com/2010/05...l-be-its-last/

“Season 10 of Smallville will be the last season” Tom told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at a party for Jerry Weintraub’s new book, “When I Stop Talking You’ll Know I’m Dead” at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills, Calif. May 18

The 33-year-old actor also revealed what super acting skills he’s had to learn in order to pull off his Clark Kent character for so long. “The real test is when you own it onscreen,” Tom told us. “Once you think you have perfected things, you’ve got to keep practicing. There is always something to learn! It works for me and it will work for others”

Well first he's got to survive falling thru a 5 story building without powers due to blue K dagger stuck in his gut, then we'll see where the season takes us by then I'll have a job or made a comfortable living as a new author.
Yes its about time they show him in full costume similar to GA except he's got the cape, and the EL family crest or maybe alternate super suit that doesn't look like tights.
But that's my take on what they should do for season ten.

Signed

Re: Smallville to end at season 10(finally!)

^ Well he did open the box from Martha that was implied contained his suit...since his eyes reflected the crest of the House of El in color for the first time on the series. I don't think he is going to put on that suit until the series finale. I'm debating on when to post the summer hiatus thread...this seems like the first post season news already.

Good to see that this will finally have some sort of conclusion, but I'm very sad to see Allison go.

T Minus 51 weeks till Superman on Smallville/10 years of our lives paying off.

I really need to get a frakking hobby.
I suggest watching Enterprise.
A hobby, not a reason to kill myself.

I said ENTERPRISE. Not BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.

But, if it's a hobby you want, how about knitting? I was thinking of learning.

We're talking about them finally putting Smallville out of its misery and you recommend another "kill it with fire" situation?

Looks like Tom Welling finally told them no to any more seasons. Good for him. The CW would have milked this show for 20 seasons if Welling kept doing it for the money.

Thank god this terrible show is ending next year.
Is someone strapping you down and forcing you to watch this show?? What do you care if it's still on?

I'm surprised that there hasn't been a "Is this show still on?" post yet in this thread.

Even as loopy as this show has gotten, I still enjoy it. Although, it has needed to become less Smallville and more of a Young Superman show for some time.

Defintely NOT a terrible show. Most terrible shows do not last 10 seasons.

That's pretty much the show's problem.
Now that the Kandorians are gone it's mostly a story about Watchtower, Green Arrow and Checkmate with some relationship drama added and only a few Superman references here and there.

Re: Smallville to end at season 10(finally!)

^Yeah, I'm going to give the writers the benefit of the doubt. The show is about the guy who becomes Superman, not Superman himself. So you can't have him complete the final part of the journey if there is another season coming up. Maybe with this being the last season, the final transition will happen without it being drawn out and avoided at the last minute.
Biggest question of season 10 for me:
How does Clark pull off suddenly wearing glasses and no one remembering what he looked like without them?

Tom Welling's interview with PopWrap:

http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/popwra...OGVuqtmfm7nKSP

Some highlights: Sounds like he's definitely willing to put on the tights by the end of season 10. He also really wants to get all of the major players back this season, i.e., Annette O'Toole, John Schneider, Kristin Kreuk, etc.
