the captain SHELL game

Sometimes I would be watching Picard in an episode and find myself saying "we need to pinch hit here with Captain Kirk."

Nothing against Picard, he is good, great even, but sometimes I found his "political correctness" and his "soft manner" a bit too much.

Or, likewise, sometimes I thought, while watching Voyager, Picard might have done a better job in a certain situation because Janeway came off a bit, you know, mousy.

Can you think of a situation that if you could have subbed in another captain it might have made a big difference??

Thinking about this, just now, led to a revelation. I was trying to picture Kirk in Picard's roles... 'The Inner Light' came to mind... what if Kirk was in his shoes, etc...

...and then I realized 'The Inner Light' is basically a remake of the TOS episode, 'The Paradise Syndrome'.
