The Vaadwaur were the best LOOKING aliens on Voyager,

http://images.wikia.com/memoryalpha/.../c1/Gedrin.jpg

and potentially some of the scariest given their access to the subspace corridors. I think they were hampered by the fact that overall they were a 1000 years out of date and refugees in the current timeline. Otherwise they might have been an entertaining villiam for more than 1 episode.

(I don't count seeing one in the crowd at the Tsunkatse match as a recurring appearence. )

Its annoying the writers were too lazy to sketch out some sort of arc with them.

Wasn't that episode supposed to be a two parter?

I suppose it's another one of those things where Voyager really dropped the ball in the last two seasons.

I also liked the Vaadwaur. It was a brilliant opportunity to find out more about the Borg and life in the Quadrant 1000 years prior. An opportunity that was, as noted above, completely wasted. The subspace corridor was a nice touch, as well.

I never expected to see them again in Voyager but rather the next series going forward after it. The Vadwaar were too behind as far as technology and awareness. It would take time for them to catch up The problem was they made the Vadwaar like the Kazon, people who would have to steal technology they didn't understand.

I think there was some thought to making them a recurring villain, but they dropped it for some reason. The Vaadwaur might have been behind the times, but I seriously doubt they would have remained that way for long. They had a lot of potential to be a pain in Voyager's behind for some time with the subspace corridors. I would have rather seen some more of them than the Borg.

Their appearance didn't work for me. This human face surrounded by a mess of stuff that seems to highlight the limits of what they can do with the budget/limitations of prosthetics, rather the opposite. I'm sure they put a lot of work into it, but the end result looked awkward

But then, it would have also been nice to see more of the Krenim, the Ocampa or the Caretakers. Voyager just opened and closed too many ideas too soon instead of running with them for a while. By the time the Vaadwaur came along, they were just another above average touch and go story.

Only because their subspace corridors ran by there.

But whenever they DID keep any aliens around for more than one episode, they got complaints. And no, the answer is not "because they were bad aliens/stories" it was just that they stuck around for more than one episode.
