Since Pizza Hut seems to be the big sponsor here, I wish they'd rerelease Coming Out of Their Shells on CD.
Ha ha, I still have a pair of the sunglasses they gave away with the first or second film somewhere.
I'd be surprised if it was for the first film. Mikey orders from Dominos in that one. Still, I've been wrong before.

Edited to add: I probably am wrong. Google shows a fair whack of Pizza Hut advertizing tied to the first TMNT movie. Oops.
To be fair, Dominos was late and then got shafted on the tip. Maybe it was intentional to display them less flatteringly

I still think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze is one of the worst long movie titles, right up there with City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold.
2 has the worst title, but is still much better than 3. Outside of Casey, the third movie has very little going for it.

I like the third movie much more than the second. I may even score them 3,1,2...

Well, it did have Stuart Wilson as the villain and some kid-friendly references to Akira Kurosawa. That's something.

Just when you thought this forthcoming abortion of a movie couldn't get any worse, they release an awful rap "song" to accompany it.

I mean it worked so well for Vanilla Ice and TMNT 2.

Man, what a disaster this is going to be.

It's clearly a tradition

Only Turtles 3 didn't have one, iirc.

Yeah, they didn't look as good as in the first two movies. Still better than those hideous CGI designs from the new movie, though.

The first one from Partners in Kryme's my favorite, even though they claimed Raphael to be the leader.

There was a time when I knew that song by heart.

Comparing lyrics, this new song has two elements Vanilla Ice's "Ninja Rap" doesn't: luxury object/wealth porn (ugh), and an emphasis on family and brotherhood (good). Both songs stress the awesomeness of the turtles and their ability to party and rock crowds.

I too thought the song was awful on my first listen, but started liking it after only a handful of replays. It's certainly better than the pop-metal crap that close out the Bayformers abominations.

I wonder if they'll tool around with the animated show to fit the movie in some way.

I guess they haven't done that with Batman the past few years. Separate toylines, too.

Heck, they had 'movie' figures for the original Playmates TMNT line that ran parallel.

God NO! I doubt it happens anyway because the new cartoon has been out two years now, so it is harder to retool compared to a show that hasn't even started. Also I imagine there would be intense backlash from fans since the cartoon is quite popular.

The fanbase will completely disown this movie like what happened with the Avatar fanbase with the Last Airbender movie, if it is bad enough!

I still haven't seen the new cartoon. Is it any good?

For the record, I quite liked the 2000ish one.
