Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

I'm just wondering when this thread shifted from the TOS ship to the TMP one...

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

@CRA - It's going to be a blending of a sorts as I'm looking at the refit-Enterprise's internals for ideas on how the TOS Enterprise internals would look (but aren't seen on screen).

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

Thank you Andrew for your insight ! I've been going over the artwork on your site and that is an amazing amount of detail and thought that went into the ship. Wow I too wish they went with your Officer's Lounge and Rec Deck.

I'll add the ramp and give it a go with it

Cheers,
Peter

A VERY interesting visit to reality-ville. When under the constraints of a production that had already scheduled it's opening date before the film was finished, it was harder to check relative scales & shapes than I would have liked. But I must say that my Officer's Lounge and saucer-rim Rec Deck would have been a better fit than Michelson's. Ya win some and lose some... hoping the results are better than average.

The Enterprise (refit) I put together was indeed called out at 1,000 feet even (305m) but, as I've stated often, once a design leaves my desk, there is very little I can do to insure it makes it to camera as designed. As for the deck-level discrepancy between the Engineering docking port and Landing Bay level,... there is a ramp leading down from one to the other within that transition corridor.

Keep up the good work,
Andrew-

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

Added the ramp and was able to lower the other decks down to the flight deck The drop would be less on the 305m version (this is the 355m version).

That's a very steep ramp! Perhaps stairs would be better (at least on a 355m ship)

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

Question (as I couldn't find any confirmation from watching ST6:TUC) - do these markings only show up in ST5:TFF and not in ST6:TUC? Thanks!

You mean these markings?

I believe you can see them when the E flies over the camera on the way to Khitomer in TUC. I didn't know you could see them in TFF. But I may have that backwards.

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

Hmm - I tried looking at trekcore but I wasn't able to find any shots where I can make out those markings in TUC...

Unfortunately a buddy of mine has borrowed my TUC DVD so I'm currently unable to watch it to see if I can find those markings

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

It's been a while but two updates

The first update is a WIP of the TMP Engineering section. Vertically it fits in a 305m ship. Length-wise, not so well with the long front hallway

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

And the second update, a return to the TOS Enterprise

The beginnings of the Energizer room as seen in "The Alternative Factor".

Love the energizer room! I've seen many interpretations of this set, but you seem to have captured a good accurate rendering of the actual space seen on screen (that would fit into the corridor set)

Can't begin to imagine how the internal wiring is laid out, tho! After all, Lazarus switched some space-fuses around at a hatch near the door, to cause an overload 2 rooms over!

Thanks Deg3d and Mytran

Yeah, I just noticed how they got it to fit that corridor set now too!

Re: TOS Enterprise WIP

I had made a 2-D diagram of it which shows how they slotted it in, but it seems kinda unneccessary now!

Also it did not survive the reformatting of my hard drive
