He used a gun in the 40s serial. And Bucky America uses one. But for the most part the Rogers Cap really didn't in the comics. He was just that good. He could take a squad of heavily armed SS troopers with only his shield and bare fists.

Love the poster, love the costume (the suspenders are still but what the hey), and the director seems like he understands the character. Cap was never intended to be a mindless flag-waving type. He knew what he was fighting for.

if you must be so churlishly dismissive before even seeing so much as a single frame of celluloid on the screen, why must you post here? your relentless negativity is very wearing and i find the repetitive dismissal of any change from the original comics to be annoying and juvenile. your persistant hatred for any deviation from pre-established comics and their continuity are entirely symptomatic of all that is wrong with the comics industry and its fanbase - namely a desire to cling to the past and a never-ending nostalgia for all that has gone before, never allowing new talent to take characters in a new direction for more than a short period before retconning the story back to the old status quo or shoving it off to one side as part of some 'other world' story that doesn't affect current continuity.
