ok..so Kirk..or Sisko...or Archer...maybe Janeway would beat him in a fair Greco-Roman wrestling match but Picard is the hands-down best Captain

I'm going with Captain Kirk.
If Nero; a late 24th Century Romulan asteroid miner, who probably didn't have the best education, knows who James T. Kirk is. That's saying something.

Re: captains

Hard to think of Sisko as a Captain, because he wasn't, and then he was. I think I Liked the concept and potential challenge to him doing his job as a Commander better. Or a Kindly Street Man Named Hawk.

What about "Acting Captain Wesley Crusher?"

Try to put a little effort into it....

Kirk. A big, brash risk taker.

Three letters, ECH.

But seriously, Picard all the way.

(Wasn't there a polled thread about this already... well, again after the one before it?)

Re: captains

Kirk can solve interplanetary dilemma's with fist fights and by talking to computers. And DS9 is my favourite series.

But Picard is the best captain.

Kirk beats Picard in every category. Even at quoting Shakespeare (not to mention D. H. Lawrence).

Re: captains

Mmm...or, Janeway. She might know some of that Chai Latt stuff that would knock the boys off their asses. Plus, she would have the "...you wouldn't hurt a woman?..." mojo, and Consummate Gentleman Picard at least, might hesitate.
