New Star Trek RPG community - The Eighth Fleet

We are the Eighth Fleet.

The Eighth Fleet is a gaming community which includes two games, the Akira-class USS Takeda Shingen and the Luna-class USS Tethys. We're very much under construction, but at present we have a bulletin board, chat room, wiki, and two games (one presently running, and one soon to be launched). We look forward to seeing the community grow beyond merely the two games it supports.

We are always looking for new crew aboard the USS Takeda Shingen, which has a fairly casual, "rule of fun" style of roleplay that can range from dark and serious to parodic and goofy even in the space of the same mission. This is a linear game with a feel similar to PBEM, due to Livejournal's format. It has been running for two years, and has a wiki which contains all relevant in-game information. The only positions which are *not* open are all Engineering, and Flight Control Officer. Within a few months, the current Chief Tactical Officer/Chief of Security will be departing, so we're accepting applications for this role (we would bring you in as a more junior tactical officer, who would replace the outgoing CTO/COS).

The USS Tethys - flagship of the fleet, and a somewhat more "classic canon" look and feel - is presently under development, but we would love people to jump in and save their space, and get in on the ground floor of planning... or perhaps, if there is enough early interest, we'll just start playing. All positions presently save for Captain, First Officer, Chief Tactical Officer/Chief of Security, and Chief Engineer are open.

I hope to launch fairly soon - perhaps within the next month or so.

I just thought I'd let you know I've added both websites as games in my listing of games, audio drama, prose, and comic books, vis: http://startrekreviewed.blogspot.com/2009/06/246.html
