I agree with you, Zardoz, and would also like to see a Star Trek anime done by I.G. or any other anime studio like I.G., with animation similar to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex..

Either that, or a movie/TV show in the style of Batman: Gotham Knight.
