The events of the Elite Force games?

Well, specifically, Elite Force 2, which I believe takes place in 2380, which is the year after Nemesis. I was wondering if these games fit in with the current relaunch material, continuity-wise?

Have any of the characters from the games been seen or mentioned in any of the newer books? I'd love to see one or two of them pop up in a Voyager or Next Generation novel.

As far as I know, none of them have been crossed over into treklit...

That's too bad. I'd like to see the Scott character brought over, as I believe she's supposed to be Scotty's great grand daughter or something.

EF2 is incompatible with TNG-R novels since it features Tuvok on the E-E, no Bev, no Geordi and has Barclay as Chief Engineer.

Scotty had kids? When was this? Is it known? Why would he retire to the Norpin Colony (as he was going to) all by himself if he had a significant other?

That could be worked around easily enough though, couldn't it? Temporary assignments, or something along those lines?

^Tuvok would have never had the time. He went right from his undercover assignment on Romulus to the Titan in 2379. Beverly was back on the ship before 2379 was over, and Geordi hasn't left the ship for another assignment since it launched. But you never know...

I'm not sure what it would entail (logistically or legally), but I'ld love to see Ensign Korban brought into the novel 'verse.

Not only is he another Klingon in Starfleet, but he has no life-changing tragedy in his past, he chose to join Starfleet voluntarily (just 'cause he liked it better than the KDF), he's outgoing, enthusiastic, even friendly --he's the anti-Worf.

He and T'ryssa Chen would probably get along great. . .

Tuvok on the E-E is the only 'problem'. Barclay is not mentioned as the 'Chief Engineer' in the game, I don't think. He is present in Engineering though. There's no mention of a new CMO either, so there's no reason Beverly couldn't be onboard, just 'offscreen'.

IIRC the new CMO was a Trill...or maybe i'm thinking of the counsellor? It's been a while. IIRC the head nurse had a higher rank then the doc.

About crossovers into novels - it would be cool, but there's a big philosophical difference between the way Trek is portrayed in the novels and how it is in an FPS. I would get a kick out of an away team running around with the Personal Quantum Torpedo Launcher.

Actually, those forcefield suits were a neat idea, and the idea that all the team's weapons are stored in transporter suspension until needed was cool, too (IIRC, Diane Duane used the same idea to store Coffee in Spock's World!).

That game deserved to do a lot better than it did.

EDIT: Wasn't there a comic book version? I remember reading about it somewhere or other. Or was that just the first game?

Wildstorm did a Voyager graphic novel based on the first Elite Force game.
