i did see the bit when he pulled out the photo of lana though, ugh, why did we just jump backwards

Well! it looks like Zod is the dumb one now to think Jor-El has been on this planet for 25 years finally playing hero,when its Kal-El doing all of the super heroics.

Wait until he meets Kal-El/Clark in the flesh,and tries off him in the next three episodes.
Toy man is up next,and we know how crazy he is.
By the way yes we did see in Turkey the\S/ symbol burned into the ground,but its shared by both father,and son in November Kal-El gets to meet his father for real I'm thinking Zod dos not have tech yet to discover the Fortress,and needs to have someone steal it from Tess.
Probably Jor-El is being just as hard to find until he finds the Fortress,and contacts Kal-El via comlink to his cellular phone by text message or e-mail.
I know this is a stretch on my part,but stranger things have happened on Smallville before so let us allow the season to unfold.

I'm torn here, the concept was incredibly bad, but there was some good character development here.

You know, I'm going to say Excellent. I actually liked the zombie bit and it led to some decent fighting scenes (unlike Doomsday) like with Tess and the sword and Lois knocking Clark through the window.

Character development and storyline front was good too. Clark/Lois was pretty good and not obnoxious. Ollie is being a pissy little bitch but watching him fall apart is interesting. Gaeta's character continues to make a good contribution and now he knows what Chloe has been doing. The end with Zod was pretty cool too.

That's what I was expecting of the third episode of the season.

By the third episode, things are relatively back to normal

That's not what that scene means. He pulled the picture OUT of his wallet, into the album, and literally closed the book on her. It's contrasting Ollie still having Lois's picture in his wallet, being still not over her.
