I like the Blade Runner-ish music, but the new "dark" tone and camerawork seems very forced.

It's like "Lost-gate: Galactica".

That was obviously just his first guess, not like he has had time to dissect the database and figure out dates yet, just his first guess. I'm thinking we will learn more about it as the show progresses.
