I think Columbus said that no one knew the cause of the zombie virus so there's that too.

He said it briefly. Mad Cow disease that had mutated into Mad People disease. But that could have been a joke.

Was it just me or did these Zombies seem to die easier than in other zombie movies.

A baseball whack to the head just wouldn't kill a zombie in other movies. The disease they caught made them behave like cannibals that could not feel pain. But it seemed you could kill them like a regular human. The double tap rule just made sure.

It was a joke/speculation on his part about the "Mad People Disease." Since a human-form of BSE exsists in CJD.

No "real" explanation was ever given.

Just saw the movie yesterday, and he does say that it all started when a certain patient zero first bit into an infected burger.

I thought that they were doing that because these are supposed to be closer to the Rage infected than anything else.

I wouldn't be surprised if they push it a bit. It was, surprisingly enough, originally planned to air on NBC before they shelved it.

Here's a little about the graphic novel the series is based on: The Walking Dead.

The 'Zombies' were not dead, they just had a very bad disease and thus still humanly vulnerable and easier to kill. Still, remember the 'Double Tap' rule

I would have found the original cameo they had planned far better though, but it would've been sad to see because of recent events.

Patrick Swayze was the original cameo that was planned and they were going to do a homage of his scenes in ghost at the pottery wheel.

Okay, that was a frakking awesome movie. And I'm not usually all that into zombie flicks. Woody Harrelson was just hilarious, and that cameo!

I liked Jesse Eisenberg, too. He gets compared a lot to Michael Cera, but Cera's shtick just feels phony. Eisenberg can actually do more than just act like an awkward, gangly kid all the time.

And Emma Stone is 100% pure zombie-killing hotness.

I hope we see another adventure in Zombieland.
