To me he'll always be the conflicted Lutheran pastor from Winter Light. A fine actor and sad news indeed.

He's a great actor. Probably the best in Bergman's little repertory. Plus, if you ever have problems with Satan inhabiting one of your kids, he's the guy to call.

So he's Satan, Jesus, a Catholic who excorsises and a Lutheran who no longer believes?

I'm not exactly sure where Merciless Ming fits into this religious conundrum, but I'm sure it's interesting.
