Firefox + F11 = Happy Poster :-)

Just wanted to say I discovered the F11 key the other day, and now I don't have to page down to see the first content on each page of the board anymore.

I am very happy. It's not something I'll use all the time with every website, but it is nice to have the extra browser real estate, especially on my netbook, where even YouTube videos barely fit vertically in the window.

Okay, so to broaden this a little bit, got any clever tricks you use to make surfing more enjoyable?

I've got a netbook too. I have to hide my taskbar and use fullscreen most of the time just so I can see everything. I'm kind of upset there's not a smaller resolution.

I'm not a fullscreen kind of browser guy, I guess. If a page doesn't fit neatly into my window, I adjust the text size. If that doesn't work, I go elsewhere!

I use fullscreen on my netbook a lot as well. It works in IE also, btw.

^Good to know. I avoid IE like the plague, so I wasn't sure if it was a Firefox thing or something more broad.

Opera can do it too, but I never use it. 1920x1200 is enough space for two browsers next to eachother (though they're a little too narrow for some badly designed sites) and a few terminals at the bottom of the screen Fullscreen browsing in widescreen/large resolutions is the suck.

That's odd...it does nothing for me. Although, since I have a 1440x900 resolution screen, I doubt it would be useful anyway...

^ for some reason, it doesn't quite work sometimes, so just go to View>Fullscreen. ESC to exit fullscreen.

F11 has existed for as long as I can remember, same as F5 for refreshing

I was pretty sure it was something I was just oblivious to. I never used the higher function keys until recently, when I re-assigned F9 & F10 to be my home and end keys on my netbook. My netbook doesn't have dedicated home & end keys - can you believe it?!?! So, I guess I found F11 by accidentally hitting it instead of F10, and VOILA!
