The film "PUSH"...possible spoilers

Well I just caught this on DVD the other day. Although you wouldn't be able to tell from the reviews and ratings, I thought this movie was pretty interesting. I'll admit it was a bit confusing towards the end which is why I had some questions...

1) How did Nick predict that he would get ambushed at his apartment when he went back there after getting his memory wiped? Is it because he knew the asian female watcher would predict it?

2) Similar question but just regarding Kira, his old girlfriend. How did Nick predict that the Division would try to lie to Kira and convince her that she was an agent?

I saw it in theaters back in Feb and I really enjoyed it. I thought it had a very complicated and interesting storyline and made a good use of many different kinds of power in conflict with each other. It reminded me of the original Underworld movie for its elaborate backstory. It's too bad there won't be a sequel as it didn't perform well.

Just saw it last night for the first time and I wish I could answer your questions. I was kind of falling asleep at the end, so I missed most of what you were asking. Also how did Nick know what to write? I mean some of the envelopes were so spot on, that there is no way he would know what situations were.

I wanted to like this movie so bad, but it slowed down to a point were I kind of fell off the train while watching. I started out into it, but couldn't stay with it. I want to read up on the movie later today, so I will keep these questions in mind. If I find the answer I will return.

There was something really clunky and unfinished about that movie. What happened to Cassie's mom? Wasn't Cassie's whole motive in teaming up with Nick to rescue her mom? Maybe they thought they'd save it for the sequel (which I doubt we'll ever see, I don't think this movie did very well at the BO).

Camilla Belle is one of the least charismatic "movie stars" I've ever seen. They should cast her in Heroes so she can make Peter and Claire look good. Djimon Hounsou was just completely miscast. But the screaming Chinese guys making stupid faces were great.

Also, the camera work was incredibly annoying - too much jiggling and cutting HOLD THE DAMN THING STILL!

And why should the photo at Coney Island convince Kira of anything when there are mutants who can whip up any faked piece of paper at a moment's notice. For that matter, there's such a thing as Photoshop.

Dakota Fanning's attire seemed distracting. Like waaay too much leg showing for such a young girl.

That was creepy. At least she played the kind of character who would deliberately dress like that, rather than some pervy movie producer just inflicting that on a character.

I forgot to complain about that scene where Chris Evans telekinetically points two guns at the bad guys. Okay, that was an interesting use of TK but the guns bobbed around exactly like they were being dangled on wires. I have no idea how things being manipulated via TK are supposed to move, but not like that!!! #1 I could hardly believe that movies still dangle things on wires instead of adding them in post production and #2 even if it's done in post production, don't spend a bunch of money to just make the guns look like they're bobbing around on wires!!!

I saw this last week and thought it was okay. But I was surprised when it ended! Here I was thinking, okay, now we're going to kick some more ass and rescue Cassie's mom... and then it ended.

I thought the same thing, even asking myself is this just because I don't know what it would look like so it looks fake but I think there is something wrong with it. It seemed like something out of an Abbott and Costello movie. The other thing I couldn't figure out was what advantage it gave him to just pulling two pistols on these guys.



Dakota's character made this kind of like "Layla Miller the Movie" (Marvel X-Factor) though I'm not sure if she ever said "I know stuff" in Push.

The wobbling is ok. Looking like they're on wires is the problem. There must be some other way for them to wobble!

I had the same thoughts. In storytelling you don't mention something huge like Cassie's captured mother and NOT have a climax involving some type of rescue attempt. That's like showing off a gun in the first act and not having it fired at the end. Trying to save Cassie's mother would have been ten times better than the actual ending fight we had in the movie. I was really disappointed when it didn't happen.

I thought the movie was okay but it could have been much better. Dakota Fanning did a good job playing Cassie. The Hong Kong setting was wonderful.

Clearly, this was supposed to be the opening of a trilogy. Dealing with the mom who precogged her way into setting up everything that happened in the first movie is not something that would fit into the plot of the first film. Second, maybe.

Decent movie, could have used a rewrite and some editing work, though. I'd see a sequel. Probably won't get one.

No, near the end they figured that the mom got caught on purpose and that was their "big reveal" in so far as this movie went, but the rescue was being saved for the sequel.

To regular people, that would be a HUGE reveal, I mean come on, garden at gethsemane already? Regular people are still stunned that Jesus did the same thing. Mommy was a martyr not a victim, and you don't have to save people who are exactly where they want to be, and more importantly need to be.
