They do dental work with lasers now? When you were in the dentist's chair, did you do the whole Goldfinger "Do you expect me to talk?" thing?
^Ha ha. No. To make myself feel better after, I went to Michaels and found some great jewelry supplies: Gotta get started on Christmas stuff!
Just got a new 3ds for my b day, one that both me and a friend can use. Had to get the first one replaced though, since the firm ware was messed up, as in it was trying to load a game and it got stuck on the black screen of death. Only way out was by pressing on the power button for a bit. Then it shut down and I was able to restart the system normally. Still returned it, since I wasn't sure if the system was fully ok. Thank god the store let me exchange it for another one and they took $20 off the top of the price so I could get another ecard in order to replace the games that I'd lost on the other system. So far this one is working well. Got Super Mario Land, Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (beat Oracle of Ages years ago and wanted to play this one for quite awhile) and Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. All off of the eshop. As for normal games: I got Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Dementium: The Ward (which, sadly I have to return...since that was the game that had some trouble loading originally on the other 3ds and I don't want to chance it). Also got Kid Icarus: Uprising for free with my 3ds (which I got to keep when I exchanged my 3ds for another one). So far it's pretty good.
Some LED-lamps, a handful of halogen bulps, towels and an espresso-brewer... What is it that makes it impossible to go to IKEA and not return home with what you went for but a bunch of other stuff???
I've heard those have very bad repair/maintenance problems. I think they are cute little cars but I'm told they're pretty badly built. Are you finding that to be the case?
Not so far. For the Cruiser, it was just struts/shocks - wearout parts. The car has 150,000 KM on it and it was just time. Other than oil changes, nothing was done on it since last year when it was time for new brakes.
^Indeed, we've been happy with it and it is good on gas and fun to drive. I suspect next year it'll be time for a new muffler and pipes. Today's purchases were cat food and litter.
Both the paperback and the Kindle version of The Quiet Earth by Craig Harrison. The movie of the book was made in 1985 but I didn't get to watch it until the early 1990s. I have been looking for the book for many years (it was published in 1981 and reprinted in 1986). It must have only had a small print number each time as the movie and book were probably only aimed at the New Zealand market. In the last few years copies of the orginal book have been sold for several hundred dollars each. It was republished last month for the first time in 27 years.
Died yesterday, Australian time. She had incurable cancer of the mouth so we had her put to sleep. She would have turned 15 later this year.
I lost a cat to a prolonged, worsening illness towards the end of last year. She was about 15, too. My deepest condolences.
