Ant-Man also goes by Giant Man.
And Goliath, and Yellowjacket, and Wasp, and Scientist Supreme.

It sounds more heroic than Ant-Man.
Actually it kinda makes him sound like a New York football mascot.

Silver Surfer? He's silver and rides a surf board in space. Not too much of a stretch thinking that Marvel was capitalizing on the surfing craze of the 60s.
Yeah, but for the herald of an all-powerful cosmic being? A surfer?

At least it's not as dumb as having the incarnation of Death be a guy on skis. Oh, wait, Kirby did that too.

If she really had the strength and durability of a god, not only would she not need a perfect body but her strength and invulnerability would make her immune to exercise, there for, she should look more like a pudding pop than a bouncer.

He'd fit nicely in your avatar.

It makes one wonder.

Then again, "Ant-Man" isn't exactly reassuring or inspiring either.
"Ant-Man" sounds like the kind of character someone like Paul Rudd would play in a movie.

Earlier today, I watched that (70's) SNL sketch where Superman (played by THEBILLMURRAY.) threw a party, where the Flash (Dan Akryod) and the Hulk (John Belushi!) double team Antman (Garrett Morris) a new one for being entirely pathetic.

I think the only reason a lot of the superhero names sounds kind of cheesy today is simply because most of them are at least 50 years old now. Most things from that era sound cheesy today.

Pretty much everything Stan Lee created in the '60s was derivative of creature features/suspense movies/Amazing Stories. Any one of his origin stories would have fit right into a Twilight Zone episode.
