Surely the problem isn't all the good books people read because they "counted," but all the bad ones. I'll never regret reading Star by Star, but I sure would have given up halfway through Legacy of the Force if it wasn't for the completist necessity.

No one knows what's happened to Sword of the Jedi. There's 3 books this year, not counting paperbacks, that's terrible.
With the restructuring of the EU there will be no books past Crucible till they figure out the new trilogy. Makes sense since that timeline is about to be written over
