Hmm... this is difficult, since most of my favorite TV openings/themes don't have lyrics. However, many old WB/CW shows liked to use songs as their themes, so that helped fill out the list. Here is what I was able to come up with:

    Roswell - "Here With Me"
Gilmore Girls - "Where You Lead I Will Follow"
    Smallville - "Save Me"
Veronica Mars - "We Used to Be Friends"
Charmed - "How Soon is Now"

^Oh damn I forgot about Smallville too!

Also Scrubs, and as overplayed as it is - I'll Be There for You from Friends.

    Oh and Blackadder.

I am having a REALLY hard time choosing only 5, as I think there are enough for a top 10 that I all enjoy equally.

    1. The Wonder Years
    2. Facts of Life
    3. Family Ties
    4. Full House
    5. Friends (why do these all start with F??)

Honorable mentions: Perfect Strangers, Malcolm in the Middle, Happy Days, Brady Bunch

I will note that I don't actually enjoy all of the shows themselves, for example I really don't much like the Brady Bunch, but the song is just so memorable.

Sadly, that is true. I guess it's because there is less time now for the show than there used to be.

The Muppet Show, It's The Gary Shandling Show and Danger Mouse are great. I do like the opening theme for Smallville and The O.C. too.

Well time spent on a theme tune is less time for adverts.

Just when we had another thread to be nostalgic, this comes up the next day. Awesome. It is a hard question though.

    Fraiser
    Battlestar Galactica 2003
    Family Matters
    Friends
    Step by Step

Honorable mention to the overall TGIF theme from the early 90's and all those shows theme songs. Not sure if the TGIF theme counts but there are a ton of memories there.

If we're counting previous popular recordings used as themes, I'd have to mention the wonderful "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys from Big Love and "Stand" by R.E.M. from Get A Life. And the cover of "In The Street" by Big Star from That '70s Show.

Not an easy thing to do here... Had to look up some theme songs just to make sure they had lyrics to them...

iirc from an interview, Chris Boucher wasn't particularly impressed with the song feeling that it didn't fit the show.

I always thought Baywatch had one theme song but it seems like they've had several. Of course there was the main one ("I'll be Ready") but the two from the first season (Strong Enough and Save Me) were great too.

Baywatch had a ton of openings but what's "Strong Enough"?

The first season used only one theme song, "Save Me" by Peter Cetera, for all episodes, seasons 2-9 used "I'll be Ready", season 10 (the first after the show moved to Hawaii) used an instrumental remix of I'll be ready and season 11 had a completely new theme song, I think it's called "Let me be the One"

I like the season 11 opening, of course for the reunion movie the show went back to I'll be ready. Meh, I guess it is the best known opening so it makes sense, I still think one of the hawaiian themes would have been better because the movie was still set in Hawaii.

Strong Enough was the DVD alternate Theme Song for Season 1. According to Wikipedia,

I see, I have the german DVDs, the only release that doesn't suck, no music replacements there, no missing episodes etc.
