Is it 9 or 8.30? Our tv guide says 8.30!

My mistake. The source I read said 9.00 but Beeb 1 is saying 8.30

So very many far fetched boondoggles going on in the first half an hour, but I enjoyed it nonetheless and it was a welcome return. Alan Davies can do no wrong, in any case!

Really enjoyed it, even if the espionage plot felt unnecessary. David Renwick should write for Doctor Who.

I've heard that he doesn't like it.

I find that odd as I always assumed Creek was in part inspired by it.

Regardless, he's one of my favourite TV writers.

I liked it a lot, probably the best one for a while. I think the espionage/conspiracy theory was a bit much, and I couldn't quite buy Planers' character's actual death, but the solution to the locked room mystery was great, and really it's just nice to see Davies in a duffle coat again :)

Really don't buy him marrying Sarah alexander however!

3 more have been commissioned but Sheridan Smith is concerned she might not make it back because she's very busy over the next year.

As for the episode, well all very convoluted but enjoyable. The whole marriage/job aspect seemed forced, wonder if it's something they'll delve in to in the series ahead?

Shame she does make a good foil for Jonathan. Would anyone else like to see Rik Mayall's paraplegic detective make a comeback?

He says he only likes to do it once every century.

Maybe they'll come up with a way to make it work when we know more about how their relationship works, but it really didn't seem to work in this episode.

Well I liked that there wasn't much sexual tension between them, that makes a change and is one of the reasons I prefer Smith to Swalha (Neither is Maddie though).

Sarah alexander as his partner in more ways than one? I hope not, he needs someone spikier.

Sorry, I thought you meant Sarah Alexander. Yeah, it'll be a shame if Sheridan Smith can't make it back, she's only had the few specials to get to know her.

Rather enjoyed it. The plot was ridiculous, even by Creek standards, especially the MI5 bit at the end, but the locked room mystery solution was clever; I especially liked how they showed you the answer (the piled towels) right at the beginning. I think it was reasonable that Jonathan would have moved on after all this time, I like that not every TV character exists in a sort of infinite episode of Cause and Effect where their life doesn't change at all. Of course, a cynic would say it is easier to use a generic house set that rebuild/recreate the windmill set, but no-one could call me a cynic ;)

The windmill is/was real but has been sold off in the last couple of years.
