Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Watch a episode of Bonanza the other day, Little Joe was a pony express rider, and DeForrest Kelley was a newspaper reporter.

 

Prolific voice actor Walker Edmiston playing a voice actor in the made for TV movie The Night That Panicked America, 1975.

 

Directed by Nicholas Meyer, as I recall.

 

Written by Nicholas Meyer and Anthony Wilson, directed by "The Corbomite Maneuver"'s Joseph Sargent. Also featuring DS9 guest Cliff DeYoung and Enterprise guest Granville Van Dusen.

 

According to IMDB, Joseph Sargent directed it. Meyer was the writer, and he was upset that they didn't use his original (and better, IMO) title, The Night The Martians Landed.

Meyer's first directing credit was TIme After Time in 1979. TWOK was his second film as director.

 

Ah, I remembered that he was involved, but got the details wrong.

 

I just finished watching the Police Woman episode, Fish, which had both Ed McCreedy as the desk manager at a hotel and Morgan Woodward as Maury Ziegler, the bad guy they were after this week! Neither actors met in the episode and neither did they appear together on the Exeter in The Omega Glory!

Dunno, We just stumbled across it when scanning reels in the collection of 16mm educational films at the Internet Archive.

 

Directed by Vincent McEveety I imagine.

Nope! Apparently it was by Bernard McEveety! Could he be his brother or son? Most probably related I'd say though!

Bernard and Vincent were indeed brothers. A third McEveety brother, Joseph, was also a director.

Been re-watching The West Wing and would like to note the presence of Malachai Throne (Commodore Mendez, etc.) in the episode The Red Mass where he plays the Israeli Foreign Minister.

 

Not guest star related but - was recently watching the 1967 MANNIX episode "The Many Deaths of St. Christopher" and saying to myself, "This episode's musical score reminds me very strongly of STAR TREK's "The Empath". Then the credits roll and it says "Music by George Duning". Well, knock me over with a feather.
