    Bringing this back.

    The "Torch" has been passed.

    They'll probably fight over it.

I don't know...I found that trailer incredibly boring and way too derivative of the first "Age of Ultron" trailer. Moody piano music...moody voiceover...blah.

Rise of the Silver Surfer is on AMC right now. First time I've seen it since one time in the theater. I'm like, "But...that's Captain America...."

Also distracting: Ioan Gruffudd's American accent.

^ Fun fact-- In early drafts of the RotSS script the character of General Hagar was actually written as Nick Fury! Marvel then informed FOX that, "No, he's ours!" and turned around and put him in Iron Man the following year. The rest, as they say, is history.:)

The "modern-day" version of Fury first appeared in FF #21 a few months after the WII version, so I can see how the FF movie makers might have thought he was theirs.

Might've been interesting had we seen a Quicksilver situation, with 2 different versions of the character onscreen. Had FF gone down the Sam Jackson route, Marvel could've had someone more like 'classic' Fury.

Did they still plan to kill the character off when he was supposed to be Fury? That sure seems like it would have been a waste.

I really think that The Thing looked a lot better in the old FF movies, and he wasn't even CG. That version just looks off, although its hard to point out specifics. I mean, I guess he looks more like the comic version than the last one, but something about his design just makes him look weird to me.

Reminds me a bit of the late 80's version of the Thing, who got an extra dose of cosmic rays and was given a more 'spiky' appearence (This would continue on and off until the 90s). He's often referred to as Pineapple or Stegosaur thing by fans. This was also the weird era when the second Mrs. Marvel became the "She-thing".

Looks more like a Kronan than the Thing.

I saw that poster on another site this afternoon but I'm not convinced it's not a photoshop. Something about Kate Mara's head in particular looks 'off.' Could just be the photography, of course.

I'm getting a Star Trek V vibe from The Thing...
