I hold it in contempt because the plot is so stupid and the characters make the stupidest decisions in the history of stupid. As Bob the Skutter texted me from the premiere: "stupidtastic". No amount of pretty makes up for treating the audience like dunces.

 

Yeah, Prometheus would probably be a lot more amazing if the characters didn't all act like a bunch of unscientific, dunderheaded morons.

Although I will agree that it was one of the best-designed and coolest looking scifi films in quite awhile.

 

Agreed but I'd include The Duellists. Superb debut feature.

 

Scott was the director. That was his job. He either approved of the script, or he was negligent.

 

Ignore and insult the audience at your own risk.

 

An audience that gets insulted because a movie wasn't made the way they wanted is just entitled, immature behavior usually exhibited in children under nine years of age.

 

Sorry, but to criticize a movie for it's faults does not automatically make one "entitled and immature".

 

I refer to insulting their intelligence with the story, the ignorant and stupid "scientists," and girls who, of course, trip and run in straight lines. Calling those things stupid "is an insult to stupid."

And yes, let's not satisfy the audience. That would be horrible.

Oh yeah, Ridley's visuals were great. Thanks. Great movie.

 

Garak's just yanking chains. I expect he thought Prometheus was as much of a turkey as we did. A well dressed turkey.

 

Oooo, it was sarcasm? Nice.

 

Denis Villeneuve could be the director.

That's enough to make me 100% support this project!
