Thanks for all the kind words gang. I'll get around to doing some more of these eventually but first I need to make some serious progress on the Grandeur. Stay tuned.

Agreed. I have the "aft close-up view" as my wallpaper at work. But I'd really love to see a few of the "classic TOS views" of the enterprise set up as high-resolution wallpaper images. Stuff that folks would look at and say "that's from the original show" until they looked REALLLY closely. ;)

^I'm also using the "aft close-up view" as my wallpaper. So please allow me to chime in with a "Please sir, may I have some more?" :D

That second shot in the group of three is one of the first 'fan shots' - heck, even Paramount's! - that I've seen that actually made me FEEL like this was a ship that had gone places! Great job!!!

I'm also using the shot right over the fantail as my desktop; nice work! I love the subtle reflection map a lot; going to try and incorporate it into a future project, I think. ;)

What was it; flat mirror, reflect/refract, or raytrace, out of idle curiousity?

So Vektor what would be your take on the look of this beauty's bridge! What do you think it would look like! Naturally I would think it would be very close to TOS bridge!

None of the above. It's an Architectural Design material rendered in Mental Ray. There is no method I know of to accomplish quite the same thing using the scanline renderer, which is one reason why I use Mental Ray and its advanced materials almost exclusively now.

I actually gave some thought to this question a while back. I would probably start from the version used in The Cage and then apply the same kind of "similar from a distance but more detailed and refined close up" approach that I have used on the exterior.

I would also ditch the gooseneck lamps. ;)

Bah, those lamps are awesome! They could be anything from a personal view-screen, to a holographic projector or eyeballwasher. . . or it could just a lamp, they still need to see in the future. They add an interesting shape to the bridge, surely they could be slightly altered to look less useless.

Excellent. I'd love to see some sketches if anything else. You really should post more of your sketchwork anyway. From what little I've seen over the years, I find it to be as equally impressive as say, oh, this work.
