Being at heart a lazy s.o.b,I had visualised Willem Dafoe as Admiral Willem Batiste.I had probably invested the character with Dafoes wolfish charm and really looked forward to "seeing"him spar with Chakotay.Which is why**spoilers ahoy**I was so burned when the character was written out so quickly. Maybe it's the moustache, but I've always seen "Monk" actor Ted Levine as Ranul Keru.
Keru = Burt Reynolds. Dr. Ree = Sinclair from the old Dinosours TV series. Maybe we should recast Riker and Troi. They're getting old.
The ideal choice for a recast Troi would be Laila Rouass from Primeval. She looks uncannily like a younger, more exotic Marina Sirtis.
I had a new idea for Capt. Eden, now I'm not sure if this would work so don't be afraid to call me an idiot. My idea is S. Epatha Merkerson from Law & Order
I don't remember exactly how she was described, that was why I said I wasn't sure about Ms. Merkerson.
You mean your ideal choice right? Yes she may look a bit like a younger Marina Sirtis, but Ms Rouass' heritage is from India/Pakistan region of the planet, not Greek as I believe Ms Sirtis is. Not that that matters one bit though to be honest.
^You're right, it doesn't matter at all. John Cho is Korean, George Takei is Japanese. Zachary Quinto is Italian, Leonard Nimoy is Russian. Zoe Saldana is part-Latina and significantly lighter-skinned than Nichelle Nichols. Chris Pine, Karl Urban, and Simon Pegg all have different eye colors than their predecessors in the roles. Laila Rouass is actually Indian/Moroccan, while Sirtis is Anglo-Greek. So they're both of half-Mediterranean derivation. And I do think the resemblance is much more than just "a bit." It's as strong a resemblance as Quinto and Nimoy, if you ask me.
Cool. I like it. Nice to see at least one other Charlie Jade fan here. And speaking of that series: Michelle Burgers (Essa Rompkin) as Charvanek, aka the Romulan Commander from "Enterprise Incident" Danny Keogh (Julius Galt) as Elias Vaughn (Actually I don't really care who he plays. Just get him into Trek SOMEHOW. This guy was so utterly cool in CJ, we GOTTA get him into Trek...) What in the bloody hell was THAT all about?
I really like CJ too, but once Sci-Fi started it moving around every couple weeks I ended up losing track of it, so I've never seen past episode 7 or 8.
Probably, 'cuz it's not on iTunes either. And I agree that Jeffrey Pierce would probably make a better Calhoun than Joe Flanigan, who (like so many other 'hip' actors) seems to spend all of his onscreen time acting like a smartass jerk.
