I'd like to see an uber-low budget Widow movie like The Raid or something. If they generically action movie it up, then no, not really.

^ And comic-book character + The Raid worked so well for Dredd... :p

... Still, shoot a native 3D movie in which ScarJo stays in her catsuit and kicks ass the whole time, while not smooching any dudes, and I'll buy a ticket. :D

Just that praticality alone does not make a better character. In fact, there are excellent characters which don't make much practical sense in the real world, and trying to make them follow arbitrary rules of what we consider realistic does not make them better. I'm talking about Catwoman here, but I could be talking about Miss Marple, Fagin or James Bond and my point would be the same.

And I apologize too for my rude tone.

Black Widow and Catwoman team-up movie.

    I know it doesn't make sense. I don't care. :p

^ Let the record show that the Gaithmeister has no objection to that motion.

I'm probably alone in this, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Captain Britain and MI13 film. Thought Charlie Hunnam would be a good fit, based off the cap's look in MI13 too. There isn't a hope in hell of it happening though.

Maybe not financially but it certainly worked as a movie. I think Dredd's financial failure had as much to do with its 18s/R rating and the lack of name recognition for the character. ScarJo and Black Widow and the Marvel brand wouldn't have the same problem.

I just slogged through the Dr. Strange pilot from 1978, for the first time since I saw it first run. It has a few decent moments, but--yeah--I think it's very dated. Ohmygod, that synthesizer music! I (12 year old me) remember thinking at the time that it was better than Spider-Man or the Hulk, so I'm somewhat hesitant to look up either of those. ;)

One theory I've heard is that name recognition worked against it, because too many people thought it was a remake of the Stallone film.

^Could be that too. The Stallone movie is probably better known than the 2000AD comic strip.

    I would love a Black Widow/Hawkeye movie.

Hey, I'm right there with you.

I'd love to see Pete Wisdom!

Hell, let's do X-Factor and Jamie Maddrox too.

Me too. Have we heard if Jeremy Renner will be making any more appearances before Avengers 2?

BIG rumours for what the plans are in Phase 3.

If true they are pretty big spoilers, so beware. But wow, I didn't think anything could make me more excited for these movies then this report comes along...

So basically every Avengers movie is going to be a massive alien invasion of Earth? There's always Ultron or Kang... Still, I think that'd be cool to see!

"And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes and heroines found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, the Avengers were born—to fight the foes no single super hero could withstand!"

Massive, worldshaking threats are what the Avengers are for.

And having The Hulk be the invasion is a different spin on it.

I don't know. "Every" seems a bit strong on the basis of one movie and a rumor. :)

It's waaay too early to start spotting trends, I think.

Let's talk again after we've seen three or four AVENGERS movies.

Well, what I mean is, if we follow the rumors, it sounds like
AV2 will be Thanos's invasion and AV3 will be Hulks' or Dormammu's invasion. It's an alien invading army from space/other dimension, and not just an earth-bound foe.
