There are more powerful weapons, but none that have the same coolness factor. The type 2 has a habit of disintegrating enemys on any killshot.

Cool episode, and it was nice to get another TOS Enterprise crewmember in the form of Scotty, and he made a NuTrek reference.

Did anyone else have major bugs in the Break up the Bar Fight portion? Over half of the NPC's were invincible. I beamed back up to my ship and restarted. This time, only two were invincible. I eventually set my Away Team to Passive and that allowed me to continue the story, but it totally ruined the feel of the Episode because they'd still be fighting while everyone else was recovering.

No problem since Prime Scotty invented it. Unless he did it in the 24th century and you met 23d century Scott.

Yep. I also couldn't get through the door to kill the last set of Devidians and my Tricorder just kept pointing me back to the the unresponsive bartender.

As for the "Last Set of Devidians", you actually have to go back to your beam in point and kill Devidians there before the door you are talking about comes into play. If you've already done that, then I don't know what the issue was.

Any help on slingshotting around the star? I cannot seem to stay on trajectory for the entire path.

I got one of those promo e-mails from Cryptic:

    Design The Next Enterprise
Seriously. We're working with our friends at CBS and Intel to turn the design of the next canon Enterprise over to you, Star Trek's most dedicated fans. Just visit our special Design Hangar and submit your version of the universe's most iconic spaceship. We'll convert the best design into a ship in Star Trek Online, but that's not where it stops.
    Here are the prizes available:

    • Grand Prize: Custom, STO-painted Alienware M11x laptop; STO Collector's Edition; STO Lifetime Membership; and a 3-D model of the winning design.
    • Second Prize: Alienware laptop (no custom paint job), STO Collector's Edition and an STO Lifetime Membership.
    • Third Prize: STO Collector's Edition, STO Lifetime Membership and an Intel Core i7-875k processor.
    • Fourth Prize: STO Collector's Edition and an STO Lifetime Membership.
    • Twenty-one Honorable Mentions: Standard-edition copy of STO and a Star Trek Online poster.
I'm thinking that if any of you have any design skills you might want to give this a shot. It would be cool if someone around here designed the next Enterprise.

    I agree. :techman:

As for me I've been neglecting my STO playing for some time now. I think it's time to get back into it, since I am paying after all.

Well unless you enter the contest and win by the way it looks.

Still in a few weeks season 3 should come out with a whole lot of cool stuff, so you picked a good time to get back into it.

Our latest content update, Season Three: Genesis, will be available in December 2010. In Genesis, you'll experience Star Trek Online in all new ways. Between new item sets, a complete revamp of Sector Space and the ability to create your own missions, Star Trek Online is better than ever! Here's some of what you can expect in Season Three: Genesis:

    Introducing: The Foundry Beta

Have you ever wanted to design your own mission in Star Trek Online? Here's your chance! The Foundry for Star Trek Online will enter public beta when Season Three debuts. Using The Foundry, you can construct Episodes and share them with your friends. If you're not interested in designing missions, you'll still benefit from The Foundry: Player-created missions will be available to you to play and enjoy, right alongside the Episodes you know and love today.
The Foundry Beta for Star Trek Online is a living, breathing feature within the game, and we still need your feedback to make it as dynamic and engaging as possible. So be ready to let us know what you think!

    Episode Replay

Hop into the Holodeck! In Season Three, you'll be able to replay Episodes you've enjoyed previously. Some will even feature new, Episode-specific rewards! Nearly every mission in Star Trek Online is available for Replay. New Special Task Force Loot

Admirals and Generals have been confronting the greatest threats to the Alpha Quadrant for some time. In Season Three, you'll be able to integrate Borg technology into your ships. This new loot from Special Task Force missions will greatly augment your ship's usefulness as well as its appearance. At your discretion, the new Borg-based items will appear on your ship. Whether it's a new weapon assembly or upgrade to your ship's engines, you'll be able to show off your crew's battlefield prowess.
Already like the look of your ship? Not to worry; displaying the effects is entirely optional. You'll still receive the bonuses these new items afford without compromising the look of your ship.

    An All-New Sector Space

You asked for it. We listened. We've revamped Sector Space to give it a more realistic look and feel. We've reworked everything in favor of a much cleaner, minimalist experience. Space needs to look and feel big, and we've taken a step in that direction in Season Three.
    During Season Three

While Season Three's launch is an event in itself, we'll still be debuting more great content shortly afterward. Here's some of what we have planned after Genesis debuts:
    • Gorn Customization: Additional ways to customize your Gorn characters.
    • Exchange Updates: Improvements to the Exchange to make the experience more holistic.
    • New Loading Screens: More eye candy while you wait.
    • C-Store Additions: Including the Star Trek Motion Picture uniform, Open Jacket Uniform Variants, new ships and more.

    More Content For Everyone

We've got some great new features headed your way, too. Some new improvements include:
    • Klingon-Specific Updates: Access to Pi Canis, a 200-day Veteran Reward, crafting and more!
    • New Item Sets: New STF and crafting rewards.
    Even More on the Way

These are only some of the changes, fixes and updates in Season Three: Genesis. For a full list of what's bundled into Season Three: Genesis, please visit the Engineering Reports forum.

This is going to be an awesome Season update!!!! Bringing the game to where it should have been at launch almost a year ago!

Speaking of getting back into the game I have a few questions. I haven't played since my free trial and that was way back in May. I stopped playing because I didn't have a reliable internet connection since I was stealing it from my neighbors. :D Well I've decided to start paying for my own connection again and my lady love wants to try the game herself. I've bought her a copy and plan on installing it on her machine in the next week or so.

What I would like to know is that when I sign back up will I be able to play with her and accompany her on her missions? Will she be playing the same missions I played when I started last May or will there be all new missions for a newbie to play? Also will I be able to play all those weekly episodes that weren't around when I started? Will I be able to complete those missions I never finished when I canceled my account?

Will I even recognize the game when I come back? I understand that Cryptic really jazzed this game up since last I played.

To be able to play with her, she will need her own account.

All your progress has been saved.

All new content will be available.

All old content is still available.

As for the last one, thats up to interpretation. It's still STO, but cryptic has added quite a bit.

Hopefully this answered your questions. If not, feel free to call me a moron and ask someone else :D (Preferably without the moron)
